I have two guys that work for me now so most shop hours are covered between the three of us. Thats just there for "just in case"

Understandable, but maybe still ill-advised. It's a reason to not come back. If I'm walking by your shop after hours, or stopped in traffic on my way to work and I read that, it's a note of uncertainty that's in the back of my mind. I probablly won't gamble and go with the guy down the street.

Don't admit to a failure to meet an expectation prior to actually doing so. A removable sign to a similar effect would be more effective in the long run. A customized will return in 5 minutes sign. "Office closed until 2pm due to emergency on-site service request" or some such says that your responsive to peoples demands, not indifferent to them.

Otherwise nice shop.
