It seems like some criminals are getting bored with just holding your encrypted files hostage and now want to have fun with you as well.

"Menacing ransomware called Jigsaw threatened to delete thousands of files an hour if victims didn’t pay 0.4 Bitcoins or $150. Worse, restarting your PC, according to the attackers, would also cost victims 1,000 deleted files. The icing on the cake was a menacing image of “Billy the Puppet” from the horror movie franchise Saw and an ominous warning message.

“I want to play a game with you. Let me explain the rules: All your files are being deleted,” the ransomware note begins."

This is decryptable!

I've seen two different things about this if you encounter (or get a call about) this one. One from early on advised powering the machine down immediately, then removing the drive to mount onto another system for decrypting, the newer from BleepingComputer is http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/new...l-delete-your-files-until-you-pay-the-ransom/ and provides instructions for "live" killing and decrypting.
