New car! (well, new to me).

I wanted something with more storage space and more suitable for applying advertising. I just got it yesterday so I've been finding excuses to go driving :D

Anyone have suggestions on graphics? I don't think I want to do a full wrap.

Mazda 6 Sport Wagon 3.0L V6. Leather, sunroof and all that jazz.
Now I have to get my advertising on it so I need a new design!
Just wanted to share my excitement.

nice car :D couldnt have that here in the UK petrol prices would kill us.:D:D

ah a nice blank canvas.

we have stopped doing full wraps on our cars.

back quarterpanels & rear window is all we do now. just as effecive for a fraction of the cost.

I agree about not needing full wrap as long as your base colour works with your design. Quotes for full wrapping and half wrapping my little Smart car were £1500 and £750 respectively. I then found a designer, funny enough off the wrap on his vehicle that I parked behind in town, that did the design and print of vinyls for £270. Best bit of advertising I've done. Every call park it so it is visible, do a good job and the jobs will come in.

I drive a 3.0 V6 ST220 :p

To be fair I have converted it to Gas though ;)

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm not sure I like the idea of full coverage on the back window. I'm thinking more about just vinyl like yours Paul.

How is visibility with the windows covered? I guess the bonus would be that the car doesn't get hot as quickly.

I was concerned about visibility thru the back window too, but the sign place showed me samples and it was just fine. I can look in my rear-view mirror and see out the back with no problem. The wrap dims the view about the same as if it were tinted.

Another added bonus: a person outside can't easily see what I'm carrying inside the back of the car.

Rear wiper does not have any affect of the vinyl, I'm also thinking of wrapping my car a little. Paul's car looks good, may do that and the rear window.

Does this help?

I love wraps, but not the cost. The other thing to consider when using a car for advertising is readability. Wraps tend to have all kinds of 'busy' going on, which might make it difficult for people to read quickly. Our local Subway has a wrap on a Ford Transit, and for weeks, I assumed it was for a tattoo shop before I realized it was for subs. I like yours NP, but your business name is skewed, which is not a natural way that human beings read. It generally works fine however in building a presence while tooling around town.

As far as having graphics on windows, there are some decals that you can see through, but are fully functional as adverts.

Yes, they are expensive, but not when you put it in perspective. That wrap was $1400. It has paid for itself over and over again.

It's skewed for a reason. It's not natural. People ignore natural. You can ignore a perfectly centered piece because your eyes perceive it as natural. Something "unnatural" commands attention. I've actually caught people looking at it...staring at it...while they read it. That helps them retain the information.. The goal is to get them to pick up the phone. That's only done if they retain a commanding amount of the information they cultivate. And they retain it by commanding their attention and having them put effort into cultivating it. Up to a point of course. ;)

It was empty real estate. Real estate that was costing me money. Why pay for a bill board, bus ad or radio campaign when you haven't exhausted the real estate you already have? Hence the wrap.

Indeed. It's perforated vinyl on those windows. We can see out, but you can't see in. On top of that they're coated with a special substance to improve durability. I can't remember what it is, but that's probably because I'm a computer geek, not a sign guy! Either that or I'm just old and senile. Or both. lol :)

they are UV coated usually, (higher end uses 3M coatings), yes it's perforated vinyl (commonly called "Window Perf"), they work great!

I need to do my 2 latest vehicles soon, I do all of our own graphics and printing, it's nice and cheap, but it's also occasionally time consuming lol.

So that's what it is. That explains why it lasted so long. I imagine it must be time consuming. They made several proofs and then took the better part of a day to install it on the car.
