I have been in the IT industry for 21 years and currently run a one man MSP business since 2010. I am looking into ways to expand my business. I started my business as a break/fix computer shop, but I have decided not to continue in that area and just stay with commercial clients only. I closed my computer shop last Dec 2016 and I now run my business from a small office since I mostly go to my clients site and do mostly everything remotely. What I do is design and maintain small networks for my clients for a fixed monthly fee, mostly doctors dealing with HIPAA compliance. My duties include maintaining backup onsite as well as offsite. I also monitor all devices remotely like PCs, servers, printers, routers, switches, laptops, etc. and off course I protect clients data.
I would like to know if anyone has any ideas for this year other than dealing with smart phones which I prefer not to deal with.
