Hi,
I have built a new system and the details are as follows:

Corsair 600T case
Asus Z87-Pro Motherboard
Intel i3 3.7GHz
8gb Kingston Hyper Fury RAM
500gb Samsung SSD
2TB HDD
RM100 PSU
running windows 7 at the minute i have reset the CMOS but can't think on anyting else to try

i am using onboard graphics at the minute as my problem is as follows when i click on restart the monitor and keyboard turn off but the fans,PSU,HDD's are still running it will not shutdown and restart. to get it to restart i have to press the power button then when it comes on the monitor and keyboard do not come on until i shut it down and restart again. Could anyone please offer any advice on this one

Could be any number of things or combination of things. Defective or incompatible memory, defective power supply, hard drive......
check error logs for clues.

does the system crash, freeze at any other times while using it?

I have ordered a POST Diagnostic card online will have it by Thursday it is taking a long time to shut down and it will not restart when i click to restart. will let you know what the diagnostic says when i get the POST card thank you for your replies

Check cabling

CPU seated correctly - Compound applied + heatsink and fan connected?
12V cable connected from PSU to Motherboard?
Memory seated Correct?
PSU Wattage compatible? MOST IMPORTANT OVERLOOKED COMPONENT

Have you tried out of case?
