Hi, this is weird, a client had their dad move there data around a few years back in their win 7 pc. Creating two duplicated accounts we'll call A & B but only one visible,we'll call it A. They bought new so wanted everything transferred over, I used my fabs as always. When I booted win 7 machine only A account is visible, so I backed that up and restored it to the new machine. I told them I'd put B (which was bigger) acct in the A account documents folder because they didn't want two accts. She calls last night and says all her data is in the B user acct. Don't know how this happened when the old machine booted only the A account he maybe redirected it to B folder somehow. I examined the B account and it does have newer files. I have the fabs B user acct archive folder copied in the A documents folder and would like to use fabs to move it into a new user account now, then hide A. Is this possible?

Maybe you tried to copy everything (entire profile's content, including registry files which contain known folders paths) from B to A and not just documents and other flat files stuff. Then, Windows started to use B paths while logged on as A and the mess started.
If I am right, just look at the registry a while logged as A and see if paths are pointing to B's account location in the following key :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders

if you see such values, edit them one by one with A paths instead (replace any C:\Users\B with C:\Users\A while keeping the rest of the path).
After that, merge B's documents folder with A's (and just documents, not entire profile) or you will mess it up again. In case you have a doubt, use Fab's transfer feature selecting B account as source and A as target, leave every box checked to let it do its job correctly. Finally, if you are afraid about overwriting newer files, set the program to only keep newer ones and everything should be fine.

Since you are quite juggling here, if I was you, I would make a disk image to cover myself before doing anything!

Thats sound like what happened, it wasn't me who did it but Geek Squad.... I already sent it home with her last night, I ended up just using the backup I had still on my usb and using fabs normally putting B user files into a C account, it wouldn't have been such a hassle it if wasn't for the amount of data, I was looking for the fastest fix for it. Next time I'll have to pay closer attention to the user names and actual user file names, first time for everything I guess, thanks for your time on this. I didn't bother with a image cuz the old win 7 machine was still running and I could always go back to it. Wish I still had it to verify your thoughts, but that sounds right.
