I need a nice PC case without any top fans/holes that would allow for a spill to destroy the system.

My wife recently spilled a soda into the tower and it temporarily disabled the video card but seems it did not cause any permanent damage but we will see. Anyway its about time I pick up a new PC case and was wondering if you guys had any suggestions? The NZXT H440 seems like a nice choice and the vent holes on top are on the side of the tower so safe from spills.

For accident prone people I put there desktop tower on a stand so that the top of the tower is slightly higher then the desk to avoid these issues. It also gets it off the floor a little bit which might help against dust and any static electricity from rugs and carpet.

Which stand do you use to get it that high off the ground? That would benefit one of the computers I have but for the other thats right next to the entry door its still in danger hehe.

There isn't one specific type of stand I use because of different desk heights, and the ones I have found on amazon or ebay are quite tall enough. Since the pc's we sell are usually black, I just usually use small wooden boxes. Also sometimes a small file cabinet works fine as a stand as well.

Get her a cheapy Raspberry PI or other similar tiny computer and make her RDP into the actual computer in another room.

:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:

My wife is a gamer, she would never allow it hehehe

Just pop a shelf from an old bookcase and put it on top of the computer case as a drink holder/side-table....

That was my first idea but she called it ghetto :)

I have the H440. It's a great case. You get what you pay for.

Thats good to hear, it does seem like the best case for us so far.

What about a VESA mountable system that you can put on the back of the monitor out of the way.

hmm you know what, I actually never thought about that before @_@. These are systems with large graphics cards and what not and I don't really think I have enough room behind the monitors for that but I am certainly going to look into that for my next HTPC build for the living room.

Edit: any in particular you recommend?
