Yes, I'd create a new one without any movie/video, its slow to load up. I'd remove the socials from the bottom.

Wordy is fine, my website is all wordy and but it's easy to navigate. I looked at your site and was confused a bit. Probalby due to slow loading of the videos/images but it seems kinda dark and I wasn't sure if it was the site or something was broke.

If you're not getting a lot of traffic, I'd skip having one and have it point to your LinkedIn. That's what a lot of people are doing now vs a website.

If you are getting decent traffic, then just simplify it up a bit. I'm getting decent traffic and have kept the same old theme since 2011. I like it old looking and out of date.

Really slow to load for me, the black and blue contrast makes my eyes water. text is too small for me with poor eyesight.

The blue spinning panels are so frustrating if you miss click them.

It looks drab and old imho.
