Music whilst working.

I generally work by myself and mainly listen to sports talk with a health dose of Leo Laporte's podcasts thrown in (especially walking the dog).

If I need to clear the room, I put on my favorite genre - Southern Gospel Quartets. A great way to get needed solitude and the music is great - I think.

Yes, except for Leo La Porte feeding his face while they are talking! Very annoying imo!
Steve Gibson knows his stuff and appears to be very well respected in the industry. I've learned a lot from listening to Security Now. he seems to have the knack of being able to explain thing so that lesser mortals, like me, can understand!
I would believe Steve Gibson over most of the "crap" that others espouse!

I've read and listened to Steve for a number of years. He had a column in "Computer World" I believe that was a must read. His articles on building the ultimate computer were great and somewhat ground breaking at the time. He was developing some paid utilities then and I believe got fired for failure to deliver - well before Spinrite days.

The last time I listened to him he was discussing the Adkins diet with Leo. Listening to him describe how his urine smelled during various stages was not good radio!

Really depends on my mood, if I am just re-installing and O/S or running some scans and I will throw on Pandora and Spotify while I get things done. If I am doing invoicing and writing up tickets I like to keep it quiet.

I always turn the music on whenever I'm working so I will not feel sleepy. What kind of music I usually listen to? It depends on my mood. Sometimes, ballad but whenever I feel like I would fall asleep I change it to rock.

Actually I like a wide variety of music as I have played bluegrass, country, rock, rock and roll, blues, etc. with various bands / friends in the past. Right now we listed to 104.5 FM (Indianapolis, IN station) - has a pretty good variety on it and to tell the truth it is really just something to have playing in the background to help pass the day. Occasionally a storm warning may be broadcast on it but usually by then we already know about any storms in our area.

When I'm out in the car it's a different story. I have Sirius XM satellite radio and like to listen to Channels 6 (60's music), 7 (70's music), 25 & 26 (Classic Rock / Classic Vinyl), 100 & 101 (Howard Stern) and 122 NPR. Those are my most-listened to channels.

Dance music really helps me concentrate for some reason. I typically will put a Boiler Room set on while doing any repairs.

If my customers knew how much I bob my head while I work on their computers ....

Listening to some Plini right now, on the rare occasion that I am in my office. Otherwise on the road most of the time. Bounce between music on my phone and whatever is on the radio.
