I have been working on our web site for several months and would like some fresh eyes to let me know what might need to be changed. I have been teaching myself about SEO along the way.

Just off the cuff, I'd recommend scaling your street sign photo down. It's 3 megs in size and is 3,174px × 1,549px, but then your site is scaling it on the fly down to 500px × 280px. Just replace it with a version that is natively 500x280, and it won't be so slow to load.

lots of things that need attention. suggest reading the Ad Crit section of the Forum, specifically looking at website critiques.

There are a number of common mistakes made by beginners. Your site has most of them.

what is the street pic a pic of?

The top seems a bit busy.

There is a ton of text on the home page no one is going to read that all.

I find the services description table hard to read.

plus what jim said.

good start

What is a computer inspection (on the first page)? That's not a typical term I see when dealing with computer repair and it's not defined until the Services page

The picture of your sign with a small slice of road does not make sense. I would either have a picture of the store front or inside or just a graphic of the sign.

As mentioned there is too much text on the main landing page. Your section on personal service occupies a lot of space but does not really lend to your credibility since there are no specifics. Far better to use them as referrals.

The font on the services page appears to be smaller than the others.

Just a couple of things I first noticed and if I was looking ... I would hit back asap.
Too wordy.
No professional looking logo.
Nothing caught my attention to continue reading.

Too much scrolling. Menu for the site is halfway down the page. Who cares about your sign? Put that on a contact us/location page.

"Product" menu seems to lock up for a bit every time I mouseover.
Lots of grammatical errors.
First anecdote seems to contradict itself... was he having trouble installing software or did he have a bad battery? If the newest version "too new" then how did he get a 2013 version installed? And so on.
McAfee virus threats? Don't. Just don't.
"We also help the ladies"? That doesn't sound the least bit patronizing.
Photos section shows 4 pics of PCs.... what about them? No captions...suggests they're from 2011....
Services page runs together visually.

I saw a few things I think others might have said this already.
Get rid of the MacAfee scan
Your testimonials don’t have any names, they only say guest. It’s up to you how you want to lay it out, but without at least of the following first name, last, city or state, the testimonials don’t have much weight.
Your personalized service area should be re written.

Example:
We offer free computer diagnostics to each and every one of our customers that brings their computer to our shop. We make every effort to go by a first name basis with our customers… ect ect

I assume you've used a supplied template for the design? If not, my apologies - it looks like you might have. :) No offense intended!

Consider using a pro photographer, graphic designer and copy writer - or A-grade college students who need portfolio pieces! Some are specializing in web design.
Another option: maybe trade for services? (You'll need to have Mac experience.)

I'd lose those computer shots altogether - they add nothing and actually take away.

Best of luck on the site!

Ken

I would like to thanks those who have responded. I have reviewed your suggestions and will see how they came be worked into the site. I did use a supplied template however I have made many changes to it.:)

Looks pretty nice, it was slow loading for me though, also, take off the photos link, i would only use the photos if it were something you are going to stay on top of,( its dated 2011 )

NOTE: The computers are dusty, which does not help the company image of providing customers a clean fast moving computer when a potential customer looks at the photos it will turn them off.
