I've got a Toshiba Satellite Radius 11 laptop in the shop with a broken power switch

I have never seen a microswitch like this annd can't find one, does anyone know where I could find one?

Looks like the switch is still in tact, at least electronically speaking. Can you just glue the black piece onto the top again?

I doubt you'll find the same exact piece without just buying a dead board to salvage it from.

I should have made clear that the switch does work, but I have to dismantle the laptop to access it.
Can't glue it back together as the loose plastic part has to slide in and out from the left as viewed, there must be another missing piece to act as a guide.
The black plastic piece in the picture has a tongue in the middle which presses down onto the tactile switch when pressed in.
I found a motherboard from a similar laptop a few days ago but they wanted £310 for it, not happening.
I can buy the same laptop used/refurbished for £180, this is still too expensive as it's one of those 32Gb flash drive things.

Hate these crap systems. Our CSR refuses to allow these onto our bench anymore. We flat out tell them to return to place of purchase as we can do nothing with a 32 GB system. And no, people do not understand file management well enough to go between two drives (internal / external).

it'll take sometime to find the exact one, but they should have it

SMT style

SPDT, or SPST , single pole double throw or Single pole single throw

or its a different style switch, as its a copper membrane, im not sure if its still SPST or a momentary contact switch.

But digikey or mouser will defiantly have it

Hopefully the plastic actuator is one piece with the switch, and not an addon from the laptop people,

I had a problem, with a power button missing, the plastic piece with the power sign on it, couldnt find it anywhere online, and well ASUS gave me one option, send in for repairs, they kept saying they dont sell parts, but i would end up paying for it anyway, i even offered $20 for it, they wouldnt budge

But if it looks like plastic that broke off the main body of the switch, then you can find an exact replacement, be sure you make sure and order the exact one, as digikey and mouser have many selections, id suggest getting the calipers out, to take body size measurements, so you do get the exact one and dont make a mistake and waste time in ordering, but i also suggest ordering a few different ones that are similar, shipping will probably cost more then a few of these parts.

I wish MFG's would stop making and marketing them as computers. No computer should have less than a 120gig drive in it.

Save the smaller drives for the phones and tablets, at least the end user for the most part knows the limitations with those devices.

Got clients buying those 11.6~14" "laptops" with 32 and 64 GB drives then constantly complaining that they get popups about "low hard disk space!" Well duh!

Sorry for not keeping you all up to date, I found and ordered a couple of switches that looked the part but before they even arrived the client called in, it seems this hugely important laptop is not worth spending more the £20 to repair.
I offered to backup the data but it's suddenly not important. So it's gone, £35 diag.
Some people!

I would have found that first by telling it will cost a certinamount if the switch was the only thing wrong.

Most home users say how important their data is but in reality it is not when a cost to back/recover is applied.

You are lucky to get that from many today since replacement crappy computers are so cheap to replace.

Yes, she was fully aware of my costs, been down that road more than once, and she coughed up ££ quite happily in the end.
Home users don't realise how unimportant their data is until you mention cash lol!
