Microsoft is banning tech support ads in bing

All of the search engines are knowingly getting paid to infect their users! This is just the tip of the iceberg. There needs to be a class action lawsuit where bing, google, and yahoo, all get sued into oblivion! The sponsored searches have been viruses or scams since day one, they know this, but take the money anyway, its quite disgusting. Google even finally stopped sponsored for certain searches because of lawsuits. Just a few months back they said searches like "norton antivirus" would not have sponsored searches, since all 3 were scammers trying to list above norton on the page. Google fixed this on many searches for like a month......search it now, spam is back, and google is taking their money again!!!! Norton should be able to sue them for copyright infringement,or a class action suit or something!!!!! I hate how online companies get away with anything, but if a storefront tried any of their tactics, they would get sued and closed immediately!!

Article is talking about the online tech support and as far as I know, "online tech support" ads have been banned for a long time on Google, read somewhere that even having the term "online tech support" on your website is a no no

Hmm, I just went to Google and searched HP Support, Dell Support, Microsoft Support, QuickBooks Support, McAfee Support, and Norton Support and actually got the RIGHT PLACE at the top of each search, in big letters, followed by a few more listings that were actually legit as well. "Online tech support" as a search had one clearly marked ad on top, followed by Geek Squad (bad but not criminal) and some legit sites like Dell and Intuit. Now, if we could just stop the poor little old ladies from getting their default search engine changed to Ask (or something even worse!).

What if you are a legitimate online tech support company, like many on this forum? I see banning them if the criteria was to accept the ads only if they mimic another company. That would be easy to do.

"Customers then paid iYogi between $80 and $199 to upgrade their systems from Windows 7 to Windows 10"

that in itself is not bad. That is like us getting accused of charging people to roll back their system even though Microsoft offers it for free. I think the companies are slimy, but that one point in itself is not a problem in my eyes
