Maybe you all can help Explorer

Ok I have a friend that is a PC tech as well for a big box store. His personal computer has a strange issue.

Running Vista ultimate.

Anytime he has a window open lets say he is copying a file from one folder to another or deleting or pretty much anything in the window, windows explorer just crashes. No crash report or anything (he might have reporting turned off). You can run new task explorer.exe and Windows explorer will start back up, but will repeat the problem. We have run every scanner and all come up negative. We have checked the start up process and we cannot see anything out of the ordinary.

Run seletive startup and boot log and nothing wrong.

Do you all think it is just a corrupt file? He seems to think it is a virus, I do not.

Thats the first thing I'd make sure of. I had all kinds of problems with Vista's file system before i applied SP1. After the install, the file problems seemed, for the most part, to go away.

Found out from him today, that he did not install SP1. So he did try that, and still having the same problem. He just decided to back up and reinstall.

Many times
