Malware causing blue screens?

Hey all,

Today marks the 3rd computer in a row in which I am getting blue screens when I try to get into safe mode. This comes after a reported rogue antispyware is installed.

Have you guys been seeing an unusual amount of blue screens lately?

BTW: All have been XP machines.

Nothing more than usual. When I do see them, like you said, the majority are XP machines. Blue screens always make things a bit more interesting

Have heard of this issue many times. The best thing to do is start your work from your favorite Live CD and make your way in.

This isn't that uncommon nowadays with recent malware. As stated, your best bet is to use a boot cd/slave the drive

Slaving the drive to another PC is and scanning is much faster than using a Boot CD. IMHO.
