I am debating whether or not to redesign my logo. Please tell me what you think of my current logo is it professional enough, is it too professional to attract home users. If you were to change anything what would it be. Any input would be of great help.

I am not too sure about "too professional" for home users but I really like it and would stick with it. I think no matter what you do you may or may not attract home users.

I would like to target both groups home users and small businesses and want to make sure the logo can appeal to both audiences.

I disagree with the 'dated' comments

In regard to logos, looking 'dated' is not necessarily a negative thing. In fact it may convey stability & reliability if it looks like its been there awhile, actually working as a benefit.

My honest first impression was that I liked it, AND I also felt it was "dated" as others have pointed out. Now why I feel that way, or whether or not that is a good or a bad thing, I cannot say.

Originally I was going for corporate look and figure I can use the M as a brand sort of like the golden arches of McDonalds. So I have a few feedback some like it and others feel is dated. If you can please explain on why you feel is dated that would help me out tremendously.

I think for me it's your golden arch that gives me the feeling but I can't speak for the others.

Still, I'm not saying it is a negative thing. Dated can imply experience. I still like the logo, and personally I don't believe in changing an established logo unless you're Wal Mart, it can be tough to maintain your "brand recognition."

Solid colors, standard text.

There's an up and a downside to looking dated.

One, it can show stability and dedication. Another way is it can show stubbornness to change, don't keep up with the new things.

It's a double edged sword, personally, I think if it had more color you'd be good.

A change of colour can make a difference if you think it's getting tired. Change the colour of the main message and then try the secondary message in a variation of the same colour. A suggestion would be Navy blue name, mid/thalo blue "swoop" and secondary message.
You could add dimension using shadow and highlight to give the design a 3d /rounded feel.
You could reverse the effect by putting the current logo into an elipse, reversing the colours and adding 3d effect giving an embossed feel. I like the idea of the "swoop" extending out of the elipse.
Note to self: stop looking at other ppl's designs and better my own

I like it...

I like your logo. I think the swoop shows a range of knowledge or capabilities. Navy blue presents a professional foundation. Having the other words outside of Metrics in different color answers the question 'what do you do ?"

I just posted earler today that I had finally purchased a logo. One great thing about it is for a very reasonable price you can have many designers present their entries. You pay for the winning entry, but if you decide not to use it you are out maybe $ 100-$ 200? dollars. Then compare to your current logo. maybe just a freshen up as others have suggested ? Just a thought?

Ok so I took all of the advice and decided to re-do my logo. I have used 48hourslogo I am attaching the files that I have received so far. I like #5 #8 #20 #23 not necessarily in that order. What do you all think.
