I've drawn a logo on paper and now I want to put it into computer image file.

I'm wondering how some have done this.

The image as is, is not good enough to be scanned onto the computer...I could redraw it, as it was a first draft.

But is there any freeware that I can download? The logo is not sophisticated...Just a 2 dimensional shape depicting the letters in my business name, "JTAC".

I was always under the impression that you would want a logo done in vector format.

CorelDraw or Adobe Illustrator come to mind. Inkscape came up on Google and rings a bell.

Inkscape is a fine open source program.
It is listed on my site for this reason.

I also used it for the creation of my business cards.

Scan it and get someone on Fiverr to produce a scalable Illustrator file and some jpgs/pngs from it.

Yes! I suck at graphics but I was able to put something together in paint and along with some examples of what I was looking for. Found a designer on Fiverr and he made it happen. $20 including all sources files and unlimited revisions.
