What do you guys recommend for a new solution? I been with LMI for a while so I'm not sure who's good nowadays.

My main concern is I need to be able to allow my clients to use it to remote in to there work PCs like i had setup with LMI.

I second that! I jumped to Instant Housecall after years of Logmein. Corey is great on support and it has a nice, reassuring front-end for customers. Also has a few features Logmein doesn't have, like the ability to take notes and get paid faster ;)

I went the ScreenConnect route for unattended and use Takecontrol in MaxFocus for the ones that clients need to access too. Very pleased so far.
The nice thing about the "Takecontrol" feature through GFI is that you only pay for it for the month you use it. For example: you enable it today and you get to use it for the rest of the month as many times as necessary for that particular machine, which only costs about $0.35. urn it on when you need it and off when you don't ;).

I personally have the business edition of Teamviewer, which allows me to install Teamviewer on as many machines as I want.

I use Teamviewer Business as well. It's an up front cost but you don't have to upgrade if you don't want to. I think I started on version 6 and they have now version 10. I've been on 8 for the last couple of years as it suits me. Just make sure your clients download your customised version of the same version.

Could you elaborate on the Takecontrol feature, specifically how to do you share that with your clients? I'm using ScreenConnect for all of my remote support needs, but handful of my clients need to jump LMI ship in a month when I cancel my LMI Central subscription. I got Takecontrol installed on one of my client's PCs. I can get into it fine via the MaxFocus control panel. So do I zip up the Takecontrol Viewer Setup and the tvcontrol.tvc file and send them to my clients so they install on their access computers (home PCs, laptops, etc)? Do you setup the System Tray password?

If you edit the client, not the workstation, you can Enable Dashboard Access. Set a password for them and send instructions/link to the MaxFocus login page.
They click the little green TakeControl icon just like you do.

Here is the content of the email I send to the client:

1. Go to: www.maxfocus.com

2. Hover your cursor (mouse) over ‘Login’ on the top menu – right-hand side

3. Click on ‘MAX Remote Management’ and enter the following:
Username: whatever@example.com
Password: Y0urP455w0rDRuL3Z

4. Once you are logged into your Dashboard, click on the ‘Workstations’ tab (between the ‘Servers and Mobile Devices’ tab

5. Click on the ‘Take Control’ button directly below the tab (it is the one that has an icon that looks like a little satellite dish)

6. When finished with your session, please close the window and then log out from your Dashboard by pressing ‘File > Log Off’ (on the top left-hand side)

Thanks. I knew it should have been simple to do but am unfamiliar with their Take Control app.

We use ScreenConnect mostly due to cost for features. But I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Instant Housecall either which is what we used before. Both are great.

If you want a solution that is hosted for you go with Instant Housecall. I have used it and it's pretty good. If you want to host it yourself to save a few bucks, go with Screen Connect. Both work really well.

I bought TeamViewer 6 Premium licence for about 1,300 bucks. Its always worked perfectly. I have a exe file on my server that can be downloaded in a few seconds by directing a client there...no troubles.
