Hey,

I will be starting as a Systems Analyst for a large organization on Monday, and I was wondering if you guys had any podcasts that you would recommend I can listen to and learn something new. I have an hour drive each way, for a total of about 2 hours a day. I have listened to a lot of Professor Messer's stuff, but I'm looking for something that is more of a "dialogue" style that can provide some useful information for me to learn on-the-go (also tried Audible and wasn't happy).

I was also interested to know your guys' opinions about Lynda.Com? I will need to learn some newer software I haven't had to use in the past, such as SQL Server 2008. CBTNuggets is a bit expensive at the moment, so I would like to hear your guys' experience w/ Lynda.Com to know if you feel it is worth it or not.

Thanks in advance,
Matt

I listen to Mixergy, it doesn't teach me anything technical but it keeps me motivated to kick butt and give it 110%....

Sorry I couldn't give you what you are looking for but if you ever feel like you need some inspiration check out mixergy.

I'm not affiliated with them in any way, they have just improved my life.

I absolutely love and listen to the Mike Tech Show every week. Its been about a year and a half that I been listening to it. I have learned alot and mostly what he speaks about is networking and in the trenches. I think it would be right up your alley. Very informative show and always has helpful links and show notes each week. Worth the listen!

"Podnutz Pro" sounds like a good choice for you.

My current favorite! I had been listening to the Mike Tech Show before and when I found Podnutz Pro a few months ago, it has ended up being the only podcast I listen to these days. Still at episode 33 and have a load of catching up to do.
Matt Rainey and Lalo Nunez do a great job.

When I decided to go into business support in April 2012, I PMed Matt almost every single day for a year with questions about business support. I think he got tired of it after a while. Lol It's understand able I suppose. Glad I found Technibble to take over the load. :D

But yah, when you read about certain subject it's one thing, to hear stories about how the technology works from a pro is another...It puts a whole new spin on it. The episode when Matt tells his story about speaking with Cox Internet on the phone is unbelievably funny..

If you plan on doing anything serious with your business in the future or plan on running any other type of business in the future, I would suggest in investing in Audible and purchasing some good business books. With and hour trip, you can get through them pretty quick. I suggest listening to each one a couple times.

My hard drive died on podnutz is good. They don't post very offer but Scott Moulton is very knowledgeable in hard drive repair.
