I know that window has the built in feature of setting security permissions, but I don't think that would work in my case. These laptops are not part of the domain or anything.
Here's a little background:
I have a client that loans out many company laptops, since their employees are working on the road all the time. These laptops are usually brand new with pre-installed programs that they may need. When it's time to let someone go, there's a possibility that the employee may delete important documents/files. We usually have to use a file recovery tool like recuva to locate these items. Hopefully, there's a solution or alternative to this problem.
So I was wondering if there's any software that would prevent files from getting deleted or possibly even relocating the trash bin to a hidden folder. What would you guys do in a case like this? I've tried searching for an answer, but have not found a solution. One cool feature I did find was LoJack could lock the computer remotely, but it still does not help me with the file deletion problem.
