Interesting read.
Ubuntu have really fallen from grace at number 4 on Distrowatch! Even Ubuntu Mate is at 24!
Haven't been to the site in awhile so good to see how many daily hits the various distro's get.
One of my old favourites was Trisquel, at number 90 in the list. This is probably the only "truly free" Linux as it contains absolutely no proprietry code.
Didn't see #! anywhere in the list either?
Apparently some good things coming to BSD (PcBSD, OpenBSD, FreeBSD GhostBSD etc) with regard to locking down the kernel. Haven't had time to read up on it but sounds really interesting!
In fact, BSD is a great alternative choice to Linux, fast and stable, polished distro's and well worth a look.
Ronni Whisler has released LXLE with a customised LXDE desktop environment. Good for old computers.
Just downloaded ElementryOS for a look.

I hadn't heard anything about BSD in long time. With such proliferation and effort that Linux has I struggle to believe BSD is up and coming(?). Seems hardly worth the effort but what do I know......
Anyone hasn't switched from Ubuntu already isn't going to be making the leap to Linux Mint or Elementary OS now. It sound like OpenSUSE might be the switch for many. I still run Ubuntu and I'm waiting it out for a while yet.
BSD has a strong community and certainly isn't going away, though it hasn't generated into as much as a buzz word as Linux, so I can't see it overtaking Linux for popularity any time soon.

Ahh. sorry, thought it was india, my bad. But why does it matter that your in Singapore? I don't mind people knowing I'm in Adelaide.
