From the article:

Install and Upgrade

Are there any changes or limitations on the installation of graphics Modern Windows Drivers?
Yes. During the transition from Legacy drivers to Modern Windows Drivers you can only use the Installer (.exe) provided by Intel or your computer manufacturer.

Refrain from using any other installation method such as ‘INF/Have disk installation’. Failure to do so may result in minor to catastrophic issues or system instability.

Can I do ‘INF/Have-disk installation’ for the graphics Modern Windows Driver?
No. This method bypasses the Intel installer, which is designed to install the new Modern graphics drivers. Doing this can result in minor to catastrophic issues on your system and system instability.

I have a Modern Windows Driver installed, can I roll back to a previous non-Modern Windows Driver (or Legacy driver)?
No. It's still possible to roll back to a legacy driver this is a complex process that can result in system instability. We don't recommend it.
