So I was just looking at my bank account. Ingram Micro just charged me $200. I have never bought anything from them before. I created an account a LONG time ago, but they can never beat my local wholeseller pricing.

I'm going to call them tomorrow and complain that I want the $200 back and to delete all of my accounts and information that they have.

Any suggestions/words of advice?

A lot of wholesalers have a setup fee that is waived if minimum purchases are made within a certain time frame. If not you get whacked. I thought I remembered seeing that with IM, but could be wrong.

Update.
After being on hold for 53 minutes.
I got a human.

I told them I never bought anything from IngramMicro nor will I ever buy anything from them.
All I want is two things from them, then they'll never have to deal with me again.
I want my $200 refunded, and for them to delete my account and all details.

I was told by the lady I talked to that she went ahead and emailed my rep. and he will contact me within 4 hours with account deletion confirmation and the charge refunded.

10 hours later.

Still no email.
Still no refund.

I will be contacting my bank and disputing the charge tomorrow morning during business hours.

Think I'd be tempted to dispute the charge and not do any business with them at all.

One reason I like dealing with the local Microcenter a few miles away. Yeah, I may not get wholesale prices, but they are still reasonable, and if I don't do much, oh well, don't have to worry about incidents like this.

END OF POST

So I ended up calling my card/bank, disputed the charge and had them block Ingram Micro.

I will be sticking with my local whole-seller from now on as she matches or beats Amazon/newegg pricing, and delivers within the day, and sometimes within a few hours.

It's getting much harder. I'm lucky to have a Microcenter not far away. But still you run out. Needed a HD for a customer and had not replenished my stock in the van. Ran over to a nearby Staples. They only had ONE model of 3.5" HD in stock, two 2.5".

Most likely didn't meet the requirements when signing up for distribution.

If you can't meet selling requirements shouldn't sign up.

I buy a lot of workstations through distro

Also, if you have a Microcenter nearby, you'll find that their prices are close to amazon, newegg etc. In fact, I think they price match them a lot of times. Another good thing is that they do offer replacement warranty plans on many parts for a few bucks, so a lot of times I'll pick up a 2 year replacement warranty, tell the client I'm giving them a one year warranty. Anything goes south, I'm covered, no/little money out of pocket for me. Plus, they have an online portal, so I can go to the specific store online, see what they have in stock, put it into 18 minute pickup, they give me the total, and pull it, then hold it for 3 days I think until I get there to get it. If I'm not there by then, no charge and they put it back. So for example, if you need a drive, you put it on hold, then you'll get a confirmation when they actually have it pulled for you.

Yeah, those drives would put a damper on things. Thankfully for me, it's about 45 minutes, so it is close enough to be worth it by the time I don't have to wait for shipping etc. You might see if there is a fry's near you. A lot of guys seem to like those, never been in one though.
