Hi,
I recently acquired a dead HP ProBook 4540s 2-3 year old laptop and am wondering what I should do with it if anything... It is NOT charging... there is no signs of life whatsoever.
The DC Jack has been replaced (using a known good charger of course), so I am suspecting a problem with the system board at this point. Anyone run into this? Any ideas/thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks

Are you using a genuine HP charger / adapter with the unit? If not that could be the problem. Even though some of these laptops look like they could use a different adapter, they really NEED to have a genuine replacement power adapter. And yes, I've run into this issue many times in the past.
