Howdy!

Just purchased the Computer Business Kit v3. Packed full of awesome information! However, I'm looking for a super simple process example of scenarios on WHEN and HOW you would use these forms. There are a LOT of forms, do I have to have my clients sign a lot of them? There are Legal Agreements on all the forms and they are not all the same.... I personally am not sure that I want my clients to have to sign more than 2 forms (preferably just 1!), but regardless, I would like to know when and how to use the different forms.

Here is an example scenario:

John Doe has a MacBook pro and would like to upgrade his HD to an SSD for a better experience.

Another example scenario:

Jane Smith would like to have her data backed up, then she would like to have a Tune-Up on her HP laptop.

Can someone please take these example scenarios and tell me what forms I would use, when, and how to use them?

Thanks for any input!!

@Joshua Davis, have you put together a business plan? There is an old saying, people don't plan to fail, they fail to plan. It does not need to be anything complicated. If you do not have a lot of experience in the business world there is a non-profit that helps people starting businesses. SCORE provides free assistance to those looking at starting a business. Some on here have used their services.

In regards to the CBK. This has been put together by Bryce & Co to help people in our industry to get up to speed. Consider many, if not all, of the forms to be templates instead of definitive documents. Every geographical location as well as business is different. At this point, personally, I just use the invoice. Modified for my situation and I only use the first page. For legal terms you really need to consult with a lawyer familiar with your local. I may modify some other things to suit my needs.

Take some time to look through the threads on here. Many questions have already been answered

Best of luck!!!

Yeah take your time and look over the forms. When I first got the kit I was a little overwhelmed but I work on it through sections. I started with the editable PDF and went from there.

If I were you I would also look into a CRM like Repairshopr to help out with other areas like Invoices and Templates.

Don't make your work around the forms. Use the forms at the appropriate places in your workflow. The forms are to serve two purposes. To document what you are doing for you and the client. And to cover your ass in case of a liability. I don't care how young you are when you have 6 machines on your bench it is easy to mix up issues from one machine to the next. So that is what the work order form is for. So that you can note who the client is, what equipment they have brought to you, the issue at hand and so on. Otherwise, you might end up handing the wrong power adapter to your client.

Definitely plan plan plan. Define the services you want to promote, brainstorm the workflow and tailor the provided kit to conform to it. Print off a few test forms and play out a full ticket order beginning to end. Its silly, I know, but it helps with the process. My two cents anyways.

The kit so far has been really good to me. It helped get the creative juices flowing as far as customizing things. I've actually been exposed to the business kit since version 2 and it has been a life saver in so many situations.

I just purchased the CBK v3 kit and was amazed at how much they covered. I was wondering does anyone uses Quickbooks? I was thinking about upload my custom invoice to my account since the ones they provide don't fulfill my needs. Has anyone done that?
