How do we restore multiple user's data using Fab's Autobackup 4?
Do we have to create each account, then run the restore for each individual account one-by-one?
Or can the tool create those accounts and restore the data?

****Also, I know that Windows Easy Transfer can backup accounts,
but can it restore all the accounts like I want Fab's to do?

Yes, the Windows Easy Transfer will re-create all of the accounts. I've also found it to work in many, but not all, AD environments.

Fabs Ver 5, now in beta test, has the ability to create a userid, but I haven't tried it. I much prefer to manually create the additional userid(s) and then sign on to each one individually - primarily to ensure each id has the desired screen saver, file extensions are shown, start button is configured correctly, IE has the desired options, etc.

Interesting...do you have any suspicions why it didn't work in some?

I'm no AD wonk. Not to mention the situation was when I was doing some contract support work for the Defense Contract Audit Agency. So they would not share anything with me. They turned over about 33% of their inventory every year so we always had migrations. They ran XP for the longest time.

When I first started they were using the manual data move method. So I'm like, let's make this easier and more reliable. So I tried the Easy Transfer and it worked perfectly. Told the other techs but they were more interested in running up the payroll clock so to speak.

Did the Easy Transfer for a while. Then all of a sudden it stopped working. Tried talking to the HQ group that did the policies but they were no help. Not their problem that my job got more difficult.

I've worked with some other groups that rolled their own USMT. But the Easy Transfer is usually very reliable

I have used Windows Easy Transfer a lot. Even on Domain accounts it worked great for me. But about 75% of the time I used it on Non-Domain accounts. Never had an issue.

As much as I hate to give Microsoft Kudos. I think this is the best tool for the job.

My flat rate covers the restore of 1 account. If it is just two, I don't usually complain, but officially any more than 1 has an extra charge. I'll back up all of the accounts and just put them in a folder on the desktop. Around here a lot of people have 8+ accounts and can never remember which ones they actually use.
