How Many Computer stations ?

Were not a shop front more a business unit although do have a customer reception area.

We are kitting out an additional workspace we have taken over in another part of the city. so will give specs for that as it's a nice shiny new expansion project and also our current setup is missleading as holds our sister company aswell.

2 main benches and 1 that's not classed as work bench -

main working one (9m long) has 7 monitors - can comfortably work on upto 14pc (bit less if they are strip apart jobs and require tabletop work)

smaller bench (2m) is qualiy control and final checks has 2 monitors - only really takes 2 (no kvm switches there).

1 customer facing one (standard desk) takes 1 pc at a time merely for when clients drop off and pick up so can do quick startup of systems infront of clients to let them further expain what problems they are having.

that not counting the 2 normal office desks which are setup for remote support.

Sounds alot grander than actually looks as merely functional over style at the moment a full refit will be conducted later once it starts paying for itself.

My work bench can handle two desktops and two laptops at the moment. I'm planning at upgrade at the beginning of December to double that. I had the electrics installed last weekend, I've just got to extend it out.

My biggest problem is that a quater of my bench is full of Cisco gear that I use for my CCNA.

We have 3 offices in our storefront.

Office 1: one bench, one monitor, 8-port KVM, can handle the surrogate PC and 7 "patients"

Office 2: 2 benches, one currently holds a surrogate, one monitor, and 3 "patients" but with a bigger KVM it can hold more if we needed it. The other bench is a tool box/bench that is used for laptop jack repairs, etc.

Office 3: is my office with just has my L-desk. I use it for bookkeeping, web design, etc. and usually have 2 laptops going on it.

Then we have the computer at the front counter for check out.

So total we can comfortably handle 13 machines at a time. I can only think of once recently when we were at capacity, but we've been close a lot lately.

3 repair pcs, 3 benches (and the office when busy). Can do about 10 pcs with room for a few laptops tucked around the place.

I've got nine benches, and space for a total of eighteen computers if it's nine laptops and nine desktops. I usually work on about five at a time, unless one is a priority - then I put everything else down to finish it more quickly.
