When you answer the phone, what do you say? What are the your first words when you pick up the phone? I say, "Computer Clinic, this is Jacob". I'm just wondering if maybe there's a better way to answer...

LMAO I don't think I'd know how to respond if a business answered the phone that way.

Thats how the pizza techs answer the phone. ;-)

Actually, I answer the phone "George Blake's Office may I help you?"

I do that because I run several non-profit associations with different names and two different companies, but I have only one phone line for all of them.

A lot of clients call my cell phone, but if my cell rings, I just answer Hello. If someone calls my 800 number, I answer with my company name.

I like to project a friendly and welcoming first impression. I answer "Hi, company name"

'your on the mic whats yo beef?!'

...'good morning, tech force' all up-beat and positive like.. (replace morning with afternoon etc)

We have two lines, one main line and one just for techs. On the main line, I answer "Good [Morning/Afternoon/Evening], this is Doctor Micro, how may I help you?"

If a caller somehow gets the technicians line and the technician answers it, the greeting is "Doctor Micro Technician's line, how may I direct your call?"

The voicemail answer on the technician's line is, "You have reached the Doctor Micro Technicians line. If you are calling about an appointment you have already scheduled, please stay on the line and leave a message. Otherwise, please hang up and call the main Doctor Micro number at (XXX) XXX-XXXX. Thank you"

"Hello this is kenny"

I have a PABX system they have to go thru so they already know who they are calling.

Quick and simple:

"Housecalls. Xander speaking."

People never hear the gap between the S and X so they think I'm saying 'Andrew' but I let that go until they book or try using it more than once. I'd like to say "Housecalls. I am Xander" to clarify the sounds but think that might sound pretentious.
