I already tried this registry import:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\current\device\Update]
"ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\default\Update]
"ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\default\Update\ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate]
"value"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\UX\Settings]
"ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate]
"ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate"=dword:00000001

but it did nothing, it still updates the intel display drivers and i see them in the windows update history each time.

Yeah, Intel publishes its most recent updates via Windows Update... so those drivers should be what you need to be running. Unless it's grabbing the wrong chipset or something?

The only thing I can suggest is the old-school technique of telling Windows Update itself not to do driver updates. This, of course, means that the end user is going to have to update drivers manually if/when they want them.

See:

When I last tried this it was still working, but it's been over a year. I generally allow driver updates.

Right Click MYPC>Select Advanced System Settings>Device Installation Settings>Select no feck off I dont want you to update drivers. Next major update will need to reapply bandage.
