Client using an old version of goldmine, one user has an issue with one person they recieve emails from. When an email comes in from this person the user attempts to open the email and it crashes Goldmine.. No other issues with anything or anyone else..

This behaved the same way on where ever this person logged into her goldmine (not computer specific)..

They can open "Other" emails from this person in other Goldmine accounts..

Has anyone seen this before? I believe it was an email with an Excel attachment.

Thanks..

Wow, Goldmine. That's a flashback.

So everything works fine for everyone, everywhere except one single email that may have an attachment? I don't think I'd spend much time on this. Have the sender re-send the problematic email, perhaps zipping the Excel file before attaching it, and copy another employee so two people receive the same message and see what happens.

Apart from that, you may have to hit Frontrange's support forums. http://www.goldmine.com/goldmine-incredible-support/

My advice is to not touch it. Goldmine is a TERRIBLE program full of bugs and other inexplicable issues. Send them over to Goldmine support and be done with them.

Holy flashback is right! Haven't heard that name since....geeeze...the earliest of WinXP days or even back to Win2000 days.

My first thought is an antivirus program that's wrapping itself around POP/SMTP/IMAP pipes. Go into the AV and disabled everything about it..or even uninstall on a workstation just as a test.

Also, versions of Office..may have to go into the Trust Center settings and kill the protection that newer versions have. Such as active x, protected view, macros, privacy options, toggle the data conections in the external content section.
