I'm 17 and just outa high school and starting an Computer tech business. And i wanted some advice on doing that. I currently have a full time job(9hrs a day) so i'm not hurting on money really. I'm not afraid of hard work, or things not going well at first.

heres my site www .oregoncomptech. com.

Maybe yall could ask some questions so i could see what i really know. I have grown up fixing computers around the house and doing all that stuff, so i would say i got some experience. Just check out my site(though i dont really know anything about html and site building, thats my first so it might be sorta cheesy).

Thanks

John

I am like you just starting out and I have come to realize that compared to real Techs I do not know crap. Compared to my friends and family I am a rockstar with computers :D Check this site out for practice questions

Hi John

Curious you work 9 hrs a day at another job but are open for business 8am to 6pm? Site isn't bad for a first one. When you have a chance you want to develop it more so that people can make a decision better.

Honestly, I think your prices are a tad high for someone of your age, who is just starting out. If you want to do this for a business, and not just a short term or part time gig, I would recommend start slow and low, remember, it's not about how much money you make in the short term, it's the long term relationships you build with your client base.

Just my opinion. I wish you the best of luck!

I agree with the previous comment. Those prices are pretty high for a new tech without much field experience. You're gonna want to spend a while doing some jobs for less money, just so you can get the experience under your belt. You seem to not be too confident in your skills yet, so you may not be able to keep too many customers with prices that high.

Also, look into signing up as a service provider for places like www.computerassistant.com, which will give you some good experience, plus the added benefit of not giving your own business a bad reputation if you screw up ;-).

The website is fine for someone just starting out. The fact that you have a website that's clean and easy to navigate means you already have a good head start over some other folks out there. The graffiti graphic in the upper right is a little out of place though, I think.

Good luck and keep us all updated on your progress!
