Has anyone seen this screen issue

It seems to be a program that ran but didnt close its window, couldnt find a program running in the process'

Kinda looks like one of those boxes that pop up when you first log into a new profile or when IE updates to a new version. Does it always come up after a boot ? Can you right click on it or anything ? Does right click then "refresh" do anything ?

So far this only happened once but it happened once on another workstation also. That is why they called me.

I vote, either a borked widget, or McAfee (but usually that's worthlessness in the middle of the screen, not the corner..)

but yeah, to echo Martyn: Does it happen in safe mode?

Jbartlett we are using Mcafee as an endpoint AV... This is a unique instance they only reason they noticed as it happened on another workstation a few weeks ago. I am just looking for an answer as to what this is so I can tell them.

Well I have seen this behavior before attributed from McAfee. Hence, I ask again: Does it happen in Safe Mode? If yes, then may not be McAfee. If no, then it still may not be, but is definitely "a" piece of startup software. If you reboot and it goes away, chaulk it up to gremlins and move on!

Either way, my vote stands, as does my question!

Sorry thought I was clear, It has ONLY happened once, on this machine and once on a second machine. I cant duplicate it. I rebooted the machine and the issue didnt re-appear.

So safemode wouldn't make a difference.

looks like a setup window as others have said, that wasnt well written and didnt free the memory used after it finished. as its already run you dont see it again as its done its job.

Yeah didn't get that entirely. understood it was a new issue, but not that it was not reproducible... gotta love gremlins...

Yeah gotta love gremlins... Clients always want to know "What happened"... so have to come up with something other them reboot gone!... lol

Seen it before I'm sure it's an Adobe photo program which is starting up each time. Think it was related to lightroom

No adobe software aside from reader. looks like its a mcafee remnant.
