Good name for onsite repair business

My advice would be to stay away from names that have a city in them or have too specific of a purpose such as "computer repair".

Why pigeon hole your company name from the start to a certain city or to a certain service? You might want to open shop in a neighboring city. Or you might want to sell phone systems.

There is no doubt about it, as technology and services change over time, your company will have to adapt, maybe even grow beyond your current location.

How about something like this....

xxx technology services
xxx technology solutions

or how about a single word company name

geeksquad (yeah its taken)
dataquest
technobabble

you get the idea.

That is a good point. Also, in terms of websites and SEO, you don't have to use your company name in the URL for each and every website. Plenty of companies don't.

E.g. if your firm is called "ABC Technical Services", there is nothing to stop you buying the domain "Sudburycomputerrepair.com" or any number of other relevant domain names for targetted websites.

Valid point. But if you plan on staying local with this company, then there is no right or wrong. You can always establish a sub company. "XYZ Company, a subsidiary of ABC".

I thought about it a lot and finally decided to go with CERN, Computer and Electronics Repair and Networking. Now I just need to think of a website name for it.

CERN !!! surely you must be trying to extract the urine. If not i do hope you have a lawyer on retainer :D

Is your real name Tim, with a Mr Berners as your dad and a mother called Mrs Lee but you just hyphonate it so not to annoy either of them :D

I assure you I'm not joking, but SERN sounds just as good to me although I'm not sure if it's a good idea. Sudbury Electronic Repair and Networking, or maybe Sudbury pc and Electronics repair and networking.
