GFI - Printer Monitoring

Hey everyone,

I want to know if anyone out there is using GFI and is monitoring any printers (ink levels and jams type of deal) if so how are you doing it?

Second question is if GFI is to hard to do this is there a program out there for MSP's to monitor printers in a clients network?

gave that a shot but I cant seem to get it to work. I guess I will keep digging for another program that will ..

Yeah I tried to get it working with GFI and couldn't also. Maybe post something on their Linkedin page?

yeah I think that I might do that. its a great selling feature if we are able to view printer status I know that most printers will have an admin notification but to have this built into the monitoring software that should keep things all in one place.

I just fond a sweet SNMP vid from GFI. I will give this a shot and if it works I will post back

The problem I have found with snmp monitoring tools is many of the printers cannot provide the information that we need because they are low end.

we use GFI to monitor a number of HP lasers using snmp...we even use it to order toner. When the alert is generated - we send another toner to site! If you need any help just drop us an email.

Rumour has it that network discovery is coming to Maxlogic so im hoping this has some ability to monitor printing. Havent tried the SNMP yet but will be shortly
