Genuine Lenovo Battery

What type of battery? The problem that I've heard about here is that there are way too many counterfeits; I checked the reputable vendor that I've used in the past in case they were from somewhere down that way and shipped internationally, but they turned out to be in New Jersey.

Anyway, I see 33 items listed here: http://www3.lenovo.com/au/en/access...chargers-and-batteries/c/Chargers & Batteries though the site doesn't really like my adblockers so display is a bit squirrely for me.

I know it's not what you are asking for, however, the 'Anker' brand batteries are fantastic on fit, function and longevity - IMO, it might as well be an OEM part.

Yay! Brownie points to you! I don't know why I couldn't see them when I went there.

I've also read the aftermarket horror stories so I've been keen to track down the genuine article and here it is:

ta!

When I went on Firefox with uMatrix it showed 0 items, after I allowed some bits and pieces it was saying 33 including batteries, but when I tried to see batteries it was back to 0. Flipping to Chrome with uBlock Origin it was a little better, but it seemed only 50/50 on being able to see any content on the page so I'm not sure if it was a server issue or an adblocking issue.

Regarding the Anker batteries (I believe only sold through Amazon), I like their other products but I'm a bit cautious on Thinkpad batteries. Starting with the Tx30 series Lenovo started authenticating batteries and I believe refusing to charge non-genuine ones. The reasoning I've seen posted by a Lenovo employee was that somewhere in there (I think not until the Tx40 series) they started to support some kind of "quick charge" and they didn't want to be blamed if someone's aftermarket battery caught fire. On the other hand I'd have no issue with using one for my T510, except I'd probably get a 9-cell and want to be able to swap it onto a T430.
