Is GeGeek down for everyone else?

I update my GeGeek tools every week and when I tried to check for a new version the site timed out.

Is he down or did he close down the site?

Sorry guys about the site.
My web host shut me down for 6 hours yesterday because I was exceeding the number of simultaneous connections (500). They made me throttle back the number of connections. I was affecting others on my shared server. Never once thought this would be an issue. Researched some prices for a dedicated server and I'm just not situated for the extra costs at this time. I'm assuming it's just a temporary situation anyway, due to an article on Reddit.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Well I looked into VPS pricing and it is a lot cheaper, thank you, but I'm going to hold off for now. I think this is just a temporary situation.
In fact I checked my numbers today and they were almost back to normal. The tidal wave, I believe, is subsiding.
I think someone referred to it as the "Internet Hug of Death" or something like that. We'll see.
Really not interested in making this my "business". That was never my intention.

Understood. Even though you don't want it to be a business, as your site gets more popular, it would be good for it not to cost you money. I'm sure a lot of people would kick in a few dollars for hosting costs. Just something to keep in mind for the future.

Thanks for the work you put into the site. It's a great resource!

I'm grateful to see that he hasn't tossed in the towel. It is a great resource. I donated a few bucks for his Toolkit and his reaction made it obvious that doesn't happen often.

Also VPS or using a real server means you not only have to maintain your website but the server as well. Lots of issues you have to keep on top of to keep hackers out. If you can avoid that I would.

I'll be donating too. After trying the ToolKit the past couple days I have really liked it. Thanks GEGeek for an excellent site!

MikeTechShow did an excellent show dedicated to the GEToolKit, some of you may want to check that out too.
