Format Data Recovery issue

I am trying to recover files from a HD that has been formatted once to install windows 7. I am trying to use ontrack easy recovery pro but it is not working. The software seems to be stuck trying to build a tree. Does anyone have any other suggestions for software that can recover after a format.

A quick forum search will give you plenty. Some of the notables are GDB and R-Studio.

Use getdataback or recuva it works fine.
