Before you argue, just let me ask you (and anyone else who thinks this is a good idea).
Would you mind if a mechanic changed the radio station presets in your car?
Would you mind if your housekeeper rearranged your furniture?
What would you say if your gardener rearranged your landscape?
I would never change anything that would effect the client's experience. I won't even line up icons on the desktop. . . if that is the way they like it . . . why would I touch it.

I agree with both sides to an extent. I have, and do on occasion, the same thing. But now I will make my own search page, thanks vdub12.

Mechanics sometimes do change the radio station, if working on the interior of a vehicle, not necessarily if all they are doing is changing a tire.It doesn't take much to press the preset button and go to my favorite station, would get pretty upset if he changed all my presets though.

If you get an oil change at one of those quick lube shops you normally get a window sticker with the companies name on it to remind you of the next oil change. They don't ask they just assume you want it.

Buy a vehicle and you get a real nice sticker with name and sometimes even a logo from the car dealership on your trunk. Now they didn't build said vehicle and they didn't ask if you would mind advertising for them, without getting paid, they just stick it on there.

I think it is really personal preference if you want to change something. You know your customers better than anyone else. And If they don't like it change it back for them. When I would make any changes It would be noted in their work order, and also on the report I give them.
