I have a 2007 Mac book pro 2007 not unibody and I cant eject dvd
I was trying to Boot from Mountain Lion DVD that I burned, it would not boot
when desktop opens it does not show on desktop
went to disk utility would not eject
it says there is no DVD in drive I know for sure there is because it will not let me put in another
Usually when this happen if you restart it will eject I have tried everything

Thanks I just tried that very frustrating luckily the computer belongs to me
I think because the DVD does not show on desktop it thinks there is not one in drive
I hate these slot loader drives

I have 2 Dell Studio XPS with slot drives never been a problem in 9 years still going strong

I fiddled with a credit card for a few minutes then pressed the eject and it came out I thought it never would

After taking up the best part of the evening very annoying but happy its out despite being an old laptop.

When I reset PRAM I pressed a wrong key and it went into recovery so as it turns out I do did need a DVD

How do I mark a thread as solved

If you look at the front of the DVD drive you will see a tiny hole. Straighten a paperclip and push it CAREFULLY into the hole as straight as you can until it contacts. Push GENTLY and the DVD will eject.

When I was Googling this problem last night I read somewhere that Macs do not have this hole

Most of the slot loads lost the separate pinhole a while ago for ejecting optical disks. Instead there is a small actuator on the far left or right of the slot. You can push in carefully with a paperclip to eject the disk.
