Drop Box question

Hi,

I put up multiple file types on drop box, exe, com, bat, zip. When I click on them they all give you the choice to run or save. I want to put up a few tutorials AVI files. when I put the link in the browser it doesnt give that option it automatically opens media player and tries to run the video.

I looked in media player for an option to change but couldnt find one, is there something in drop box to do? Other than change the extension and make the user change it back? Am I making sense LOL.

Am I making sense

Not really, no. But I'll take a stab at it.

Here's what I'm assuming that you want to do: You want to store video files on your drop box account, then share the link to allow other to watch those videos?

If that's your plan, I'd suggest youtube. Make them non-public videos so only those with the link can watch them.

Where you lost me might be the part that matters, though. Are you trying to hyperlink to those videos in your drop box account....or are you allowing access to a shared folder? If you're hyperlinking, you just move the file to your public folder, then use the public link to it...either embed it or make a straight up link to download or play it, depending on the settings on the computer.

Thanks for replying, yes I am using a link but unlike all other file times when I past the link in my browser it does not give you the option to save or run it just automatically starts windows media player and runs the video. which wouldnt be horrible but the speed is very, very slow. I want the option just like all other file types to download the file first then launch it.

Thanks for the you tube idea though if there is no easy work around I may try that, thanks!
