Does anybody keep a .zip file of a bunch of laptop disassembly manuals?

I could go downloading them all, but I was wondering if anybody already did this. Great for situations where you are without internet access.

so i have a list of about 20 or so, but its no that nice, i would like manny more hard to find ones, ill post mine up if some one eles contributes

I have a library of repair manuals, but most of mine are from the 2003(ish) era.

If they are of any use, I will gladly upload some. All told there is around 2gb's worth.

If you ever come across an old one, you need, let me know, and I will see if I have it in my library.

Thanks for that link. For the last year I have spent more time looking for manuals than fixing machines. heheh
I have yet to use a manual from this site but I am on my way to donate to the site.
Peace,

I have found more and more I just spend a little more time figuring it out. When I do require a tear down manual I only need it the first time. Once I do a job the next time its not hard to remember how it comes apart. So I don't bother saving them.

Once you've done a few hundred :D, they aren't too hard to figure out. Only ones I still have issues with are the Apples. Too many weird small screws in odd locations...

I still collect them anyway...

I've about 3.5GB worth, some old and some new covering most makes.

Still prefer to have to hand just in case I forget about some hidden screw and stops me getting nervous splitting the plastic halfs apart. I still cringe at the amount of flex and then they suddenly give. I still remember my first stripdown where I cracked palmrest and had to get a new one. Plenty of money in laptop repair but still cringe worthy work:D

I takes less time for me to figure things out than to go to my computer and look for a service manual. I rarely use service manuals.

I have to disagree with this approach, and I thought that after your experience with the broken lcd cable you would be a fan of disassembly manuals as well.

I keep links to the disassembly manuals that I have used on my TechTools flash drive (since I am never without internet service).

That link is awesome. Even though I can usually find my way around a computer without the book, I'm with DCGPX on being nervous about cracking a plastic part because of a hidden screw.
