So to cut a long story short i lived in a small house and when I started my business 2 years ago i worked from my mum and dads house from a small office. Then I got engaged (getting married in 1 week 3 days). My fiancée decided we were moving house at the same time as planning the wedding. We moved and now I have my own office at home to work from (I don't have a store)

Here are some pictures tell me what you think

for perspective the room size is 13' 8" x 10' 5" and most items (furniture etc.)have been begged borrowed or stolen over the 2 years.IMG_20170315_114449.jpg IMG_20170315_114506.jpg IMG_20170315_114515.jpg IMG_20170315_114527.jpg IMG_20170315_114538.jpg IMG_20170315_114546.jpg

Where is your office located? I need to stop by there and get those Lego Star Wars. :D

Where did you get your work bench tables at? I like those. Maybe I'll get those as well.

Seriously though, very nice. Cozy and charming. I do like your setup a lot. I am in the process of redoing my office at home, an office away from the office considering since I am doing mainly MSP now, I don't actually need to be at the shop anymore. Thats what I have employees for.

It's much better than mine - larger. Not envious! ;)

It will be interesting to see how tidy it will be and how much desk space will still be available in 6 months time...it's going to get filled pretty soon.

I also like the way you said "My fiancée decided we were moving house...." - sounds like my other half too! :D

Looks good.
Mine would look similar until I moved in all my "stuff".....................LOL.

I have my stuff elsewhere lol. some still at parents. However I have had a good clear out. especially just before the photo

I am based in the UK so a bit of a treck for you especially just to come for the lego. The benches are a bit of a sad story. as we were looking for a house my fiancées dad sadly passed away and they were his in his loft with his train set on right round the loft. My soon to be mother in law said I could have them. They are good solid desks and were apparently being thrown out of a business when he acquired them for free.

I thought Trek was a dirty work amongst Star Wars fans ;)

One of my business customers, a dentist, is a big Star Wars fan. His surgery contains glass cabinets filled with various Star Wars memorabilia, lightsabres, etc. I don't think he uses them for dentistry though.

Looks good. I really like the long bench. I have quite a bit of memorabilia in my office as well on a shelf. Filled with autographed baseballs. lol

It's OK I like star Trek as well lol

I hope he doesn't use them for dentistry lol

Baseball doesn't really exist over in the UK same with a few other sports

Nice setup very clean - not like mine lol. I have a Yoda pencil sharpener on my desk, had it since the 80's. I work from home as well, gongrats on your marriage as well.

I want a yoda pencil sharpener now.

Thanks for the congrats

Congrats on you and any other techs that have such a nice looking clean space to work in.
Mine seems to start out that way, after a major overhaul.
Then I add this, that, and everything else that comes along......just in case!
I guess I'm a "tech hoarder" .....sickness I tell you.
More power to you.

You "might" consider adding a grounding "touch strip" to the front of your tables / benches. It can be made from most any type of good conducting material and then attached to the ground plug on any outlet or grounding pin (installed in the ground).

Other than that it looks like you are on your way to filling that room fast. Shelves come in handy too!

I really do like your office. If you weren't in the UK (different voltage), I would send you a real network switch for use on your workbench and pre-configure it for you such that the connected devices could not communicate among themselves but to one port (i.e. Internet) when connected.
