Do you guys get these people that try to show you adult (nude) images?

The security guard at work, who weighs like 125 pounds more than me, is five years older, and makes like 1/5th what I do constantly pulls out his iPhone to show me these pictures of him with some lady of the week. The picture always has him with his shirt off, and some topless woman who can't be over 25.

I don't know what these women see in him that makes him so attractive. I mean it's not his appearance, nor his IQ, which cannot be higher than 90. If I made what he did, after bills I would be left with debt and not be able to afford McDonalds, so it's not money, and these women aren't gold diggers.

Don't get me wrong, I am happy for the man, but good god what am I doing wrong? Absolutely everything has gone exactly to plan in my life, and I am in control of absolutely everything it seems... except relationships with women. It's like they have minds of their own.

LMAO!!! Was this in Boca Raton? If so, say no more! Special type of people out there.
 
Not had anything like that happen to me - but I've had a few customers that have said that they've experienced difficulties due to a virus on their 3.5" floppy.

I just informed them that their doctor can probably prescribe some ointment and anti-biotics for that - and then left immediately.

YEP.... so you know every other home... is like rolling the dice. Are you going to get a NUT-JOB, or some one who has a grand kid that totally destroys the computer about once every 4 months..... installing iTunes that is bloating at the seams.....yeah....good times...hahaha. THEN there are the older women, in the late 80s....who are as sharp as a TACK...and even show us some new things.....i've seen it...
 
I used to work for an oil company, once a year i was sent to every location the company had, including oil rigs in the middle of nowhere; i was told to make a preventive maintenance on each pc i came accross, cleaning them, checking the cables where in shape, and to remove everything that was not company related from the computers i checked, including Pron.. now.. there where also training vídeos so when i came across vídeos with names like VID_725682 i had to open them and check what they where, so i would not delete any training stuff.. in one of this locations in la Patagonia, Argentina i found myself at 300km of the nearest town, in a trailer, with 2 mechanics from the oil rigs, this guys go away to do their jobs and i start to check the 2 computers they had there, i came across a good deal of videos in one of them, so i started to open and see what they where.. after i open a few i open a video and see the very same trailer i'm on.. (no personal vídeos are allowed policy came to my mind). So i'm about to close it and suddenly the cam moves and shows both mechanics naked doing you know what.. over the desk i was on... (maaan!! Whiskey Tango Foxthroat!!) I close the video and when i'm about to get up, they enter the trailer and ask me: everything ok?

I have to say that was the most ackward experience i ever had on IT involving Pron..

And no i did not report them (they would get fired for certain) but told them that they should not have personal videos on company PCs.. o_O

I once had a client back in my breakfix days. He was in his late 50's and when I turned up at his property there was something just not right.

His property was strange - he had what looked like turned his living room into his bedroom and this faced out onto the local high school playground. Anyway he had 4 PCs all which he told me were broke but he only wanted the one unit fixed. I thought this was strange - something in my gut told me I was dealing with an unusual individual.


Anyway I took the PC back and proceeded to clear it out of malware. My mind was ticking over about this individual so I had a snoop in his downloads folder. Guess what I found...images of underage males.

A quick call to the local police station and they took the PC away as evidence. I felt somewhat bad about going in for a snoop but it's definitely not something I usually do. There's an unwritten rule in IT that data is private no matter what/who's data it is. I always steer clear. But in this case with the weird layout of the house and the proximity to the high school, I just had to act.

I never did hear back from the police about this case but am hoping my vigilance helped the community in some way.
 
I've come across homemade pron a couple times before, was not hidden at all! I've had guys come in saying "Don't delete my porn, i dont mind about anything else" (one guy bought an external drive just so he could keep his porn) and an old man (in his 80s) who judging my the time stamps of his history on one occasion i looked like to "have a good time" multiple times a day and he would always have multiple tabs and browser windows open every time he brought his laptop in.

Like others i dont go searching for it, but sometimes there is no escape! If i see anything that shouldnt be there i would definitely be reporting it, but thankfully that has never happened.
 
I'm sure it has happened in my 14 years of being in business but I don't recall any of the incidents. Only weird situations are seeing emails, just text, open of a personal nature while trying to fix an Outlook issue (something about getting a divorce). I must have blocked out all of those bad memories LOL.

had a client a few weeks ago. He couldn't get his favorite porn site work. He was bashful about it. I am not bashful. He is gay i am not. He was very worried. I said don't worry you hired me to fix it show me what i need to fix. It was slightly uncomfortable but really no big deal. Got it working in just a few minutes. It was a flash problem. IT happens.

I have done data recovery for homemade movies.

Edited out a "fun time" from a home movie so they could send the rest out for holiday gifts.

We are human who i am to judge. They paid and that is all that mattered.

Had one customer who wanted me to back up his data and was particularly worried about a folder called X but wanted to make sure I didn't go in it..

He wanted to make sure I didn't miss it so he goes I'll show you where it is and we'll of course he has the folder set to large thumbnail and you can see all his movies.

After working several years of corporate security it never amazes me what people will do on a work computer
