DISM Repair (A Mounted Drive put into external enclosure)

I have a computer in that came into the shop with some weird lock up on windows 10 login ( I pulled the drive and popped it into an external mount ) My question is what is the best way to run a DISM Repair on the external mounted drive?

I cloned it to another hard drive first and so im working from that and if successful i will re-clone it back to the original.
