I thought I'd mention it as I've never seen only one of the two slots (not sticks) of memory in a laptop fail before.
I have a customer's Del P28? laptop and he says the screen failed. Laptop doesn't boot but screen flickers, HDD spins, a few clicks and then the thing powers down. External HDMI monitor still no boot. Long story short. Take the memory stick out of memory slot 2 and everything works great. Stick 2 works great in slot 1 alone. Nothing works in slot 2 with or without a twin in slot 1. I tried a selection of 2Gb and 4GB modules and every time a stick of any size went in slot 2, nothing. No boot. Just sayin'.... Things that make you go hmmm.....
I'll give it back to them this way with all the warnings I can. It my have a long life ahead of it but I doubt it.
