Counterfeit Bill's

In the us i put up the bills to the light and look for the strand in the bill that tells the amount i also as look at the watermark and check to see that the ink changes from black to green on the corner number. Also you can buy a pen that marks the bill and turns a certain color if its fake.

Fake notes really arnt that hard to spot. If you own a shop you should invest in something to prevent it.

As someone else said, you can get markers they are literally under ten dollars on ebay etc.

You could get a decent system going for under $100 probably and that includes the whole light thing (Florissant I think, so nothing special) I think I spelled that right.

Cheers

lol tried spelling it similar to the proper way and spell check said it was Florissant that must be a florist term or something.

I don't think I've gotten any yet (cross fingers) I 'm just thinking ahead . I couldn't find any topics on spotting counterfeit bills on the forum.

I think our business isn't as likely to get counterfeits as we get more information about our customers than a lot of other companies

The pens are alright, but they are bleaching 5s now and printing on those. My girlfriends work had two counterfeit bills that passed the marker test, uv, watermarks, red threads... I don't know how the bank knew it was fake.. lol

How is the customer to know that they have a fake bill? When I went to the bank to deposit some cash the other day, they checked all the bills as there are some counterfeit bills going around town. The bad thing is they send the counterfeit bills to the FBI and I would loose out on the dollar amount if one of the bills turned out to be counterfeit.

Happened to me, and I got the counterfeit bill from a BANK!
I cashed a check in one bank, and used some of the cash to pay a credit card bill in another bank. One of the $100 bills was fake, according to the CC bank, and they confiscated it from me, so I'm out $100.

If their bleaching 5s look at the thread and try to read it in the bill and see if you can read it if you got a twenty and the bill says 5 then its a counterfeit. I personally have not gotten fake money but thats because i mostly take cc and for some customers who are large businesses I invoice and everything is done through the bank.
