So I have a design project and am tasked with designing the front bezel for a 2U and 5U rack server. We want it to look cool and trendy. The brand has its own "look" and I have some design constraints, but I wanted to take a look at other manufacturers designs.

Does anyone have any favorites? I like the current Dell PowerEdge security bezels, but I think they protrude a bit too much.

A couple that I like depending on the "image" you are going for....

.

HP's don't look that bad either....

Hard to beat the custom logo ones by companies such as Drake.....who design skins for some standard servers like Dells bezels.

Spin through this page (or images.google) for some neat pics.

The walnut wood one is sweet! Heh heh...he said "wood"! :D

When Google was selling their indexing/search servers...I thought those were waaay cool. The data center that we had our office in back then had a couple.

also, keep in mind how many of these would be installed in a single location. Some bezels look nice standing out on their own. Stack them up in racks beside racks beside racks, and they don't look so enticing.

While these are rack mounted, they function sort of like UTM devices, so it is unlikely that there will be many of them stacked on top of each other. More likely that there will other servers above/below them. This is a very good point, though.

Ha! I can not recommend putting anything at the bottom of the ocean, it sucks big time! Limited choice of materials and all sorts of strange constraints. The other project(s) I'm working on are submerged tidal power, and the saltwater eats everything. Best materials are composites and Ti, oh surprise, they are mega expensive! What joy!

Although the bottom of the ocean thing probably solves a lot of physical security issues :D
