"Chunghwa" panel in Dell Studio?

Customer has bought me a Studio 1537 with a cracked panel.

I have opened it up and there's a Chungwha panel in there.

My immediate thought was that this was a replacement, as I have never seen a Dell with this brand installed ex factory.

I mentioned this in passing to the customer, who insists that the panel has never been replaced.

Has anyone ever seen one of these come as a stock part in a Dell ?

Whats your estimation of the likelihood this is an original screen?

Hmmm...could be possible Dell had a shortage of the regular panels, if computer wasn't refurb or second-hand.

Nope, I personally have never seen one of those in a "new" laptop. I agree with
TechLoopPC, you never know.

Have the customer confirm this wasn't a refurbished laptop, a lot of stores will make refurbs seem brand new in the sales ad. Could of been a confusion.
