Been receiving email warnings about reissuing any certificates I have outstanding that were issued through RapidSSL before 12/1/17 (see below). How about they maybe do something useful like, I don't know, GIVE ME A LIST. Idiots.

====

As previously noted, you will need to reissue all certificates which were issued before December 1, 2017 by Symantec, Thawte, GeoTrust or RapidSSL.

We strongly recommend that you reissue before July 20, 2018 to maintain an optimal user experience in all TLS applications, including browsers. Your replacement certificate will be issued from the DigiCert infrastructure and fully trusted.

Commencing July 20:

  • Apple products will distrust Symantec CA certificates that were issued before June 1, 2016 or after December 1, 2017, or fail to meet Apple’s CT policy.
The table below shows the First Canary, First Beta and Stable Release dates for the relevant upcoming release: Chrome 70

Issued before Dec 1, 2017

July 20, 2018

~ September 13, 2018

~ October 16, 2018

As noted by Google, "The first impact from a given release will coincide with the First Canary, reaching a steadily widening audience as the release hits Beta and then ultimately Stable".
