I am working with a company in India that is offering remote support. We are a test platform for them. They are specializing in supporting people like us (repair centers). Instead of me having to bring another tech online, I get a tech that is able to work on equipment while my office is closed (they are 10.5 hrs ahead of me).
I log a ticket on their site with the connection info (ID/password) and what needs to be done. They connect to the PC and perform the tasks. When they are done, they update the ticket and I check that everything is done and shut down the PC and contact the customer.
To me, the ideal scenario for this is for a new machine setup or a N&P. Get it online and let the cheap labor do the tedious tasks of updating and installing any plugins and apps.
