Ok i have a new build that is having a problem. Everytime try to update windows it BSOD with the error stop 0x00000124.

the system specs are

ASUS B85M-E/CSM motherboard
Intel Core i5-4670K Haswell
Crucial Ballistix Tactical 8 GB 1 stick
Western Digital Caviar Black 2 TB

I have run gsmartcontrol short and long test
I have checked caps on MB
I have updated drives
I have started with msconfig in selective
I have removed all non essential hardware
I am running memtest 86 right now 3 passes no errors so far

I even reformated thinking i did something wrong installing windows. Nothing.

Searched forums here and around the net for a answer. Nothing i saw worked.

I am running out of ideas. Thanks everyone

Latest BIOS?
How are the temps, is it overheating?
Board may be unhappy with one stick of RAM as opposed to dual channel.
Drivers are from the manufacturer?

Just a thought, can you update in safe mode?

EDIT: Never Mind, you reformatted. I would say latest BIOS also.

Also, can you try running Prime95. We had a computer that would crash under medium load and Prime95 crashed after 15 seconds. I don't think windows update would bring on a heavy load, but it is a thought.
And, when I overclocked my CPU I had to up the Wattage in the settings or it would crash.

If you are overclocking bring it down to stock and try updates again.
